On Facebook one day -March 11- I put as my status: "Chelle needs some songs for a new playlist... any suggestions?" My friend, Grant, quickly came to the rescue and responded with, "so just give me your address and ill send you an extraordinary playlist!" I was leaving for Gatlinburg with the Middle Schoolers that weekend, so I was really hoping it would come by Friday (the 13th) so I would have it for the drive. Now, unlike normal people, I do not check my mail everyday... Maybe twice a week... But I was really wanting that music! I checked it every day before I left, but it didn't come in time. I was heading to Chicago the next weekend, so once I got back from Gatlinburg, I resumed checking my mail every day. On Wednesday night (when I left) it still hadn't come! The following week I had pretty much given up on it ever coming, and texted Grant to say as much! He told me he FORGOT to mail it!! So, he dropped it in the mail that week, assuring me it would be well worth the wait.
This weekend, I FINALLY GOT THE MAIL! But, to be perfectly honest, it was NOT what I was expecting. I did not have a jump drive with an extraordinary playlist... I did not have a jump drive at all! I got a torn envelope inside of another envelope from the Post Office telling me my mail had been "damaged" and they "sincerely apologized" for any "inconvenience". Yeah, right, you know there is an employee somewhere listening to my music...
