I have a killer pumpkin pie recipe from my grandma. It really is more of a pumpkin custard pie (so the pumpkin flavor is not overwhelming for those of you who aren't in love with pumpkins). It's just perfect. I can't imagine a better tasting dessert! That says something because it is up against Grandpa's apple pie and Mom's apple crisp! But, as this pumpkin pie recipe holds tender memories, you'll have to request this one from me personally...
Weight Watchers has as recipe on their site for Cranberry-Pumpkin bars... Last year, a family friend prepared a Pumpkin Soup with Chili Cran-Apple Relish from Rachael Ray as an appetizer. The name threw me off (doesn't sound good to me...) but the soup was fantastic!
Decorating 
Target has some great budget friendly decorations. I love wreaths and leaves like these to decorate; a fun idea is to set a wreath like this one as a center piece, and put candles in/around it... (This one -pictured- is on clearance for less than $10.)
You could also use a pumpkin as a planter and either make yourself or have a florist fill it with a fall arrangement... like this one from another website...
I love this craft... could be a fun one to do with kids... (Kids with knives and apples? Not dangerous at all.) This unusual table centerpiece is ephemeral -- but it's beautiful while it lasts. Be sure to buy some fruit fresh to keep the apples from browning as quickly. This is definitely a day-of project... Which is great, too, because everyone knows when you are cooking Thanksgiving dinner you have too much free time...
Better Homes and Gardens offers this as an easy center piece... Fall-colored candles pay homage to the harvest when surrounded by dried corn in a plain glass jar. What could be simpler?
